Great article. I agree 100% with everything you said. Why use a forceful thrust to crack a joint, when you can get the same pain relieving effects with gentle stretching and massage of the muscles and joints. This is a lot safer, and usually bring better results anyway especially in the acute phase where the jopints/muscles/nerves are painful and inflamed!

I agree 100%. Now the people in Asia have develop a salt without the contaminants. This salt does not raises the blood preSure and it helps detoxify the body and is a huge antioxidant. You can Google Bamboo Salt. Bushier monks recommended this salt and to mix it with water. You can also Google Taoist Inmortity Ritual. Hope this helps.

Hi Peter

Simple - find a good one. Every profession has good practitioners and those not so good. The difference between a good physio and a good chiro is just the spelling of their name. We tell our international clients to apply the "Sugar Test" which is a away of finding a good practitioner, one who will help you to their best always. Simple to do - go ask them for 5 minutes of their time to talk about your condition. No 5 minutes then will they spend the time you need to get better. There are a few more things to use in the sugar test, but as for who is best.

The practitioner that helps you to remove your pain. Physio's now adjust the spine an dChiro's will work on muscles and exercises. The lines are blurred - except for the line of good and bad.

I hope this wasn't too vague or cryptic, but a good practitioner whether they be physio, chiro, acupuncture, acupressure, bowen, massage, osteo or your medical doctor is still a good practitioner. Find someone who gives you their time and is good for you.

Cheers

You mention one source of getting help for back pain is with a chiropractor. Occasionally you will read a story in the press on how a session with a chiropractor has actually done more harm than good. Granted, these can be rare events, and the press loves jumping on stories like this, but I would love to hear your comments on the pros and cons of consulting either a chiropractor or physiotherapist.

I am a Chiropractor in Reno, Nevada and I completely agree with the writer. Exercise is one of the most important, and often times the most overlooked method of relieving and preventing low back pain. If the muscles around the spine are deconditioned the spine itself (bones, cartilage, and ligaments) have to work harder to maintain your posture and assist you in normal activities. This is particularly true in the low back (lumbar spine) because it has to support the weight of your entire upper body. Weak muscles in the lumbar spine lead to poor posture and eventually spinal injuries such as facet syndrome and bulging or herniated discs. If you have back pain visit your local chiropractor (or other spinal specialist) and ask them to teach you some good exercises and stretches to prevent or relieve your back pain.

Hi Crisi

The one step is simple - you MUST rebalance your pelvis as it is the foundation of your spine. If balanced the rest of your spine will work better and be less likely to suffer with any form of pain. Sure this is a simple solution, but it is a little more complex - to balance the pelvis you need to look at muscle and joint imbalances, all of these can be corrected in your own home. Back pain relief is a simple process if you follow the simple steps to eliminate both the symptoms and the cause. Our free back pain relief guide teaches you more about this process so if you wish head over to our main site and grab a copy - it's at www.back-pain-advisor.com
