Now, this is not some conspiracy theory, but it is a fact. There is a back pain secret that those in the structural professions would prefer you not to know. Why?
Well knowing this allows you to remove your pain yourself. Understandably, there are times when it is best to seek help. You may have had a major fall or injury and then it is wise to seek attention from a health professional.
But research has shown that most back pain is the result of many small injuries over time. The final act you say caused your pain is never serious enough to cause any pain at all. So in fact it is this accumulation of small injuries over time.
This means you can therefore target those areas that are generating your pain, eliminate the problem and become pain free.
So what is this big secret?
Actually I’ve already stated it. You are able to remove pain yourself. You don’t need help from anyone else, you can save money consulting a Chiropractor, Physio or even your Doctor.
What they don’t want you to know is that back pain is caused by three simple elements. Each can be addressed at home with simple techniques.
The first cause is Trigger Points. These are small nodules in the muscle where the nerve meets the muscle itself. Those nodules can cause local pain, referred pain and even cause the joint closest t stiffen and tighten.
Removing these only requires some digital pressure (finger tip pressure) to break these points down. No need for some contraption that’s going to cost you a hundred dollars or more. No need for injections or even a massage.
All you need to do is press on them to release the point, stretch the muscle and use some simple Acupressure techniques to make sure they never return.
The second cause is muscle imbalances. This is not just muscles that are weak or tense. It relates to their nerve and blood supply too. Correct the nerve and blood supply, stretch those that are tight and strengthen those that are weak and you have balanced your muscular system.
Sure there are certain stretches that are more effective, that only take a few seconds to both stretch and strengthen the muscles, but even the standard stretches will help.
The final cause is joint imbalances, an area few mention as this is the area of seeing a practitioner such as a Chiropractor or Physio. However, this is probably the biggest secret of all.
You can adjust your spine your self, you can balance the pelvis, and you can do this painlessly, without the “crack” and you can help get your joints moving like a well oiled machine.
This one area is rarely discussed or talked about as muscle imbalances are easy to sell. Each internet site will have their own brand of “miracle” stretches or exercises. Btu they seldom work long term unless you balance the joints also.
This is why this is not discussed. If you can’t teach someone to self-adjust their spine then you are only covering at most two thirds of the issues, and that’s if you mention trigger points which most don’t.
So don’t be fooled, you can help yourself remove pain. Back pain is not rocket science, but it is a science and a methodical approach to remove each and every cause. As I said, in serious situations you should seek help, but for the majority learning simple ways to remove trigger points, balance muscle and correct joint imbalances, will lead you to a life free of back pain.

02|Dec|2010 5I’ve had back pain for years after I was in a car accident. This is interesting info, that it seems like most of the physios I’ve been to just don’t know about. Thanks for this.

07|Dec|2010 6Good article. I would agree that many back aches can be successfully addressed by the back pain sufferer. Maintaining a healthy body weight and diet is the first step. Regular stretching and exercise is also affective at addressing the trigger points and muscle imbalances. Thanks for the info.
Inversion therapy
19|Dec|2010 7Thanks for the tips. What are your thoughts about inversion therapy?
Back Pain Relief
19|Dec|2010 8Yes inversion is a good idea for symptom relief but you still need to remove the cause or long term the underlying issues will become worse and inversion may not help. There are many inversion tables but the best we have found are at http://www.back-pain-advisor.com/inversiontables.html
