For most people trying to relieve back pain is not easy. Back pain relief after all has a poor success rate. The latest statistics point out that if you have back pain right now only 25% of you will be pain free in one year. The rest of you will be worse or just the same as you are now.

The reason is simple enough too. If you only remove some of the causes you will only get some of the relief. What does this have to do with Trigger Points?

Trigger point therapy, whether you see your therapist or learn to do it yourself, has great success at back pain relief. It is however only temporary relief.

Trigger points are localized knotted muscle fibers. They tend to occur in muscles that have been overloaded, and the points develop where the nerve activates the muscle.

To release trigger points you place pressure on them for 10-30 seconds, you can rub them also to help disperse the toxins and to break down the knotted fibers. Do this a few times and they will release.

But they will also come back. Sure you can do this daily and there are a few devices that will allow you to do this at home. But as always you must look to why the Trigger Points occur. If not you will only get temporary relief and they will redevelop.

Even if you buy certain devices and target the trigger points daily, unless you remove the muscular imbalances, get your joints moving correctly and reduce some of the stresses that allow these trigger points to develop, they will return.

I love all the great ways to ease back pain quickly. After all back pain relief is your primary goal once you are in pain. But the main reason why back pain repeats or becomes chronic is because people stop using techniques once pain eases.

To have long lasting back pain relief, you can release trigger points, but you must remove ALL the causes of your back pain.
