For all of you reading this, if you have back pain now, whether it is lower back pain, sciatica or upper back pain, here is something you can do now.
Back pain is caused mainly by muscular imbalances, joints not moving well and your pelvis being out of balance. Inflammation may also be a factor with back pain as well.
This technique is most suited if you notice your back pain when you wake in the morning, or if you are having back pain that has become chronic, despite your efforts to remove it.
A common reason for both of these situations is that your Lymphatic system has become sluggish. This may be a result of having back pain or part of the original cause. Your Lymphatic system requires movement to keep it flowing, so when your back pain limits your movement, your Lymphatic system will slow down.
Once the Lymphatic system slows, you accumulate fluid which can cause a range of symptoms, not just back pain related. You may notice you feel a bit clogged up in your sinuses or upper respiratory system, your bowel may be sluggish, you may even feel a little tired and fatigued. All of these can be a sign your Lymphatic system has slowed.
There are two main vessels that allow your Lymphatic system to drain, the technique below helps these vessels to drain and help therefore to stimulate your Lymphatic system. I have also added in an Acupressure point you can hold which also helps with the Lymphatics.
If you rub in a circular motion with firm pressure for about 20-30 seconds, you will stimulate the lymphatic system. The areas to rub are:
1. In the corner of your shoulder – the depression between your shoulder and your chest;
2. Just above your Xiphoid Process – the area over your stomach just above where your breastbone finishes, i.e. the inverted V of the rib cage.
All of these 3 points may be tender to rub, but after rubbing for 20 seconds or so, this tenderness will decrease, especially over the Xiphoid process. If the tenderness remains rub in the opposite direction as these points work like a pump, you may need to pump in the opposite way.
The last thing you can do is rest your hands (not rub, press or tap) on the inside of your knees. The inside of the knees is an Acupressure point that also relates to the Lymphatic system as well as joint movement and pain relief. Hold this point on each side for a few minutes or more to stimulate this Acupressure point.
These are all simple techniques you can apply at home to help ease, remove and prevent your back pain. You can control your back pain with techniques you can use at home.
Then you can say goodbye to back pain… simply, quickly and forever!
