I was asked an unusual question the other day, a patient asked me what caused muscles to tighten up and cause their back pain.

This actually helps to explain what is occurring and what you need to do if you want to stop your back pain now … and forever.

The facts are this:

  1. Tight muscles causes back pain (the symptom process), which can be caused by muscles tiring out (neurologically or blood supply).
  2. Muscles tire or tighten because joints do not move as they should
  3. Muscles tire, joints tighten because the pelvis twists and distorts.

But the question remains, why does this happen?

Simple, it is because of habit. All research has shown that the trauma people say triggers off their back pain is not large enough to damage muscles or joints in any way.

So if that final lift, push, pull or even fall did not “create or cause” your back pain, what did?

Basically it is the habitual processes of your body not releasing tension. Tension builds every day, day by day, until that fateful day when you lift, bend, push or carry something and your back pain suddenly arrives.

So the answer to what causes your muscles to tighten and create back pain is…

Your body’s inability to release tension!

Now this may sound like you need years of therapy, counseling and regression therapy to release this tension you have built up. But it doesn’t!

All you need to do is the following 4 steps and your back pain will disappear quickly, simply and forever!

Step 1: Remove the symptoms of your back pain. Relax your tight muscles with stretches (again it is the how to stretch, what to stretch and when to stretch that you need to be aware of). You also need to address the weak muscles by stimulating their nerve and blood supply first and then exercise them to build strength.

Step 2: Remove joint disruptions that allow your muscles to weaken and tighten. This literally takes a few seconds once you know how.

Step 3: Balance your Pelvis, as this is the main mechanism that allows joints to tighten and then muscles to become out of balance.

Step 4: Change the habits of your body. This is where self treatment or self help kicks in. Treatment from any therapist no matter who it is will not change your habits. Why?

Habits take time to form. You need to be doing daily techniques to change the habits you have formed. Not for hours, just minutes. These techniques will train your body to release tension, remove the poor habits and replace them with good habits.

The steps above fit into this as do simple techniques such as Acupressure that trains your body to heal faster and quicker, that break habits ad form new better improved habits. Techniques that teach your body to heal the minor day to day tensions and self correct it self.

Just like a cut heals, so should your spine, joints, muscles and pelvis. If your body has got out of the habit to heal, then your back pain will remain no matter who you see or what you do until you change the habits.

It is as simple as 1… 2… 3… 4…

Back pain can disappear and never return if you learn to remove your back pain in just 4 simple and easy steps. S
