I was searching the internet recently, as I do to find as much information on lower back pain relief I can. Doing this keeps me up to date with everyone out there helping you to remove your back pain. Anyway …
You will hear from me often that you must remove all the causes of your back pain. The reason is obvious,. If you remove all the causes, all your back pain will disappear. If you only remove some, only some pain will go.
There are only 2 causes of lower back pain, muscles and joints. Very simplistic, you can break this down further. Muscles can be tight or weak, and further weakness can be strength and an incomplete nerve and blood supply.
To balance your muscles alone, you must stretch, improve the nerve and blood supply and then also exercise your muscles. The exercise I generally leave to my clients as each enjoys different types of exercise.
With joints you need to get joints moving and balance your pelvis, but more on that in other posts.
As I said before, I was searching the internet and came across a great article from Sara Avant Stover – Loving Your Lower Back. She teaches yoga exercise to help strengthen your lower back. It’s a great article and a video demonstration of the exercises.
It also reminded me that although you may want to remove your lower back pain, which is a great idea. You should still look at all the factors, stress included.
The reason yoga is both popular and valuable with lower back pain relief, is that it is not just a physical technique. Yoga also helps you breathe better, reduce stress and of course improve flexibility. Flexibility in life and your back.
Lower back pain relief should be your goal, but your goals should include stress relief as well as lower back pain relief. Yoga will help.
