Do you realize that lower back pain relief doesn’t work? No matter what you try or do, no matter how many different techniques you try, it just fails to work. You must have noticed this already, as you still have lower back pain, don’t you.
Are you hoping I’m going to offer you a simple and miraculous solution to your pain? Even though I have just stated that no matter what you try doesn’t work. Actually I am.
Like I said, lower back pain relief doesn’t work. It doesn’t work for two main reasons. Change these and then you will have your solution.
Am I going to mention some new techniques, is there some missing piece to the never ending back pain relief puzzle?
First, you must understand that there are only ever four steps to removing back pain. You need to find the cause, which is step one. Then you must balance your muscles, step two. Followed by balancing your pelvis and spine, step three. And lastly, improve your healing and recovery rates.
Hang on, didn’t I say that lower back pain relief didn’t work, yet here I go saying the four steps to correct your back pain. What am I talking about?
Oh yeah, remember how I said there was two reasons, the first is simple. Aim to eliminate your lower back pain, not just relieve back pain. Relief of back pain means just that, temporary relief.
If you do not use all four steps to correct your back pain, you will only have temporary relief from back pain.
Too many people stop short of removing all the causes. Why? Nobody teaches you to identify the main causes, and then even if they do, they only teach you stretches or exercises to change them. This only covers part of the causes, not all.
And the second reason why lower back pain relief doesn’t work?
This is not semantics, but it is actually what a lot people do. Most people TRY to remove their back pain. You should just DO.
Is this getting a little too heavy or deep for you? This is not a new age concept or anything like it. What I am trying to teach you is that a lot of people only try a technique. They never complete it.
You live in a quick fix society. You have remote controlled everything. However, your body still works as it always has. It learns from experience and at times, it actually takes time to heal.
You should use techniques, no matter what you decide to use, and stick with them until two things occur. Firstly your back pain has gone, secondly when the techniques say all your back pain causes have gone.
This is why you need to know how to find the cause of your back pain. If you can personally identify the distortion patterns and muscular imbalances, then you can use these same diagnostic tests to make sure your body is back in balance.
If you only ever use techniques that say will remove back pain, but they don’t teach you how to find the problems, you are blind. All you rely on is pain relief.
When your pain is gone you believe the problem is gone. It hasn’t. When your back pain causes are gone, pain will no longer be there but also the diagnostics test will also be “clear”.
Like I said, lower back pain relief doesn’t work. You must aim to eliminate back pain and learn to identify where your pain comes from. You then can understand when you are in balance, not just having temporary back pain relief.

18|Apr|2009 1I agree with what you say…
But, can you ever really eliminate the causes? As I see it, you would have to stop sitting anywhere and never work at a computer again.
As you know, I’ve used an inversion table for over a year and while it does provide great relief, it doesn’t - as you state in your article - eliminate the pain.
Just recently, I’ve come to recognize my own muscle imbalances from years of weight lifting and am working to correct them.
Perhaps some day, I won’t need to rely on anything for “relief”.
Thanks for the article and thanks for stopping by my website. Hope you visit again soon.

18|Apr|2009 2Dr Teague says: Hi Curtis, thanks for your comments. You can eliminate the causes, people believe the causes are poor lifting, sitting wrong or various other activities. However, the causes of back pain are actually the muscle and joint imbalances. Correct these and you not only get lower back pain relief, you get permanent removal of the causes. You can use inversion tables to help ease pain, but you should always try to remove the causes.
This is what I teach people to do. Then all the lower back pain relief exercises can be used if you fall or have an injury. Something adults still do when all the causes are gone.
