Thank you for this article! I have been dealing with lots of pain and by accident discovered one day that something I ate relieved the pain within 30 minutes. I had thought it was magnesium, but in dealing with acute lumbar pain for the last two days (thought it was all due to new weight routine), magnesium didn't seem to relieve it. Then I ate something salty this afternoon, not thinking anything about the back pain and within 30 min. or less, I could walk around again. This makes absolute sense. I have eaten lots less salt lately but will make sure I have all the water and the salt that I need.

Hi,

I'm just about to embark on a program to tackle my Adrenal Exhaustion and I noticed that someone called Alys Clark has left a testimonial on another website regarding the program I am undertaking. This is a bit of a long shot but there's a chance it is the same Alys Clark that has posted on this blog and if it is it would be great to hear from her and know how she's getting on. I'd be very grateful if you could send my email address to Alys and let her know I'd love to hear from her.

Many thanks

I agree 100%. Now the people in Asia have develop a salt without the contaminants. This salt does not raises the blood preSure and it helps detoxify the body and is a huge antioxidant. You can Google Bamboo Salt. Bushier monks recommended this salt and to mix it with water. You can also Google Taoist Inmortity Ritual. Hope this helps.

Hi Alys

Drinking alone may not help completely, you may need to check your acidity levels, stimulate your adrenals and check to make sure other systems are working well. Water is an easy way to start as it will help. Head over to our main site at The Back Pain Advisor to find out other ways to help.

Good luck.

Thank you for verifying what I already discovered by listening to my body. I had severe sciatica, tried everythig to get rid of it. I kept craving salt. Finally, I gave in and made homemade chicken soup with a little extra salt (I usually avoid any salt because of hypertension). I was astounded to find my sciatica gone in about half an hour.

Since I am a celiac, I know I also have weak adrenals--a result of all those years of eating wrong until I discovered the gluten problem. Your article makes sense. I will spread the word. It was amazing!

Dr Teague says: You are right, many people were told to "stop eating salt" as it was bad for their heart issues. However it is excessive salt that is part cause of heart disease. You still need salt in your back pain relief efforts - not just for your discs, but hydration and other factors.

Thanks for your comments.

Thank you for this, I haven't eaten salt for years as I was told it was bad for me. In hindsight I reckon they meant to cut down my salt intake not cut it out. I will try this and see if it helps my backache. Any help with back pain relief is good with me.
